Yes, this is possible in Avicenna. You can configure your survey so that participants only receive it (and the notifications) on the 1st to 7th day of every month.
Here is how to set it up:
1. Create the activity
- In the Researcher Dashboard, create your survey/activity as usual.
2. Add Time Triggering Logics for days 1–7
You will create 7 Time Triggering Logics (Time TLs), one for each calendar day (1st, 2nd, …, 7th), all repeating monthly.
- Open the activity and go to the Triggering Logics tab.
- Click Add Triggering Logic → Time to create the first Time TL.
- Configure it as follows:
- Time Format:
Absolute - First Trigger: pick the next 1st of a month at your desired time (for example,
2026‑06‑01 09:00:00in your study’s timezone). - Repetition: set to Monthly, every
1month. - End Repetition: choose how long you want this to run (for example, until a specific end date or “after X months”).
- Save this Time TL.
Now duplicate it for days 2–7:
- Use the Duplicate button on that Time TL 6 times.
- For each copy, edit only the First Trigger date so the day of month matches the day you want:
- TL 2 → 2nd of the month (e.g.,
2026‑06‑02 09:00:00) - TL 3 → 3rd of the month
- …
- TL 7 → 7th of the month
- Keep Repetition = Monthly, every 1 month and the same end condition for each.
After this, the activity will have 7 monthly schedules, one for each day 1–7 of every calendar month.
3. Attach notifications to those sessions
- In the same activity, go to the Notification Templates section.
- Create a new Activity Notification Template:
- Recipients:
Participant - Notify On:
Session Released - Offset:
0(so the notification is sent as soon as the session is released) - Select the desired mediums (in‑app, email, SMS).
- Save the template and ensure it is linked to this activity.
Because the activity sessions are only created on days 1–7 of each month, participants will only receive notifications (and see the survey) on those days.
You can test the schedule with a sample participant before your study starts.
