Issue with data exports and seeing all data

I am having trouble accessing previous versions of our survey data – I have backed up some, but may be missing some data from February. We changed our survey and may have deleted one but the data from our old surveys is not showing up. Is this backed up somewhere on a general survey? I just want to ensure we are not missing anything. I didn’t know deleting the survey would delete all the data along with it! I thought it would just delete the template.

If it’s possible to get a full data backup that would be much appreciated. We seem to be missing about two weeks of data in February.

Can you please elaborate nore on your issue?

We changed our survey and may have deleted one but the data from our old surveys is not showing up.

Deleting activity only deletes the Activity from your study. The data currently collected for this Activity will not be removed. So your already collected data is safe. By that I’m referring to the responses submitted by the participants. I think that you checked the “Activity Sessions” and since the activity is no longer listed there, you think that it’s deleted. Please go to the Activity Responses tab and click on export al activity responses and you should be able to see the data.

Hi - this was my understanding, but I tried this and it did not work. It is still only showing data from our current activity.

If you recall, I made a lot of edits to my survey when we were having all the issues with notifications (around Feb 11th). I manually backed up the data just when this issue began, and then also this week, as I typically back up monthly. But our backup this month only shows data from the beginning of March.

Can you please look into this on your end or try and retrieve?

Hi, here is when I deleted the activity - so from my backups I’m missing data from Feb 11 (when I did my backup) to Feb 23rd.

We prepared an export which you can access from your Avicenna Researcher Dashboard which contains the data for the deleted study as well. Please download it within the next week from the website.

That is much appreciated! Sorry, maybe I am missing something - is this in the data export section? If so, I’m not seeing it! Thanks for your help.

You need to go to Researcher Dashboard, and from the left panel, choose “Data Export”. There, you will see one completed survey export. If you download that, it contains all responses from the deleted activity as well.

I tried that and I am not seeing it - i think it probably looks different for you. This is what I see:

Export 11 is missing - I am assuming this is the one you mean but maybe I am not able to access it someway? Export 12 does not contain the missing data and is one I created after. Let me know if you have any further ideas! If you could share it another way, that might also help.

We were on a company wide break, so I hope you accept our apologies for late response.
Missing IDs is quite usual and nothing to worry about as the IDs you are seeing are simply an ordered list to help you keep track of the order of the exports.
As for exporting the mising data, please click on the Export All Activity Responces as CSV in the top right corner of the Activity Responses tab as shown here:

Sorry, I thought I mentioned this above - I already tried this and it did not work (I tried it again just now with the same result). That’s why @m.hashemian I think I had tried to create that custom file for me. It is only letting me download current surveys. That is the file that I could not seem to access on my end. if you could please send me that file with the missing data some other way, that would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry for the delay in my reply. I forgot to set the visibility of the export and you could not see it on your end. This time, the export is available on your dashboard. Just login and go to the Data Export page and you should be able to export the CSV file with all the data from the deleted survey as well.
