Hello everyone,
This week’s release adds site and localization options to registration URLs and QR codes, helping researchers direct participants to the correct site and registration language. Details are below.
New Features
Site-Specific Registration URLs and QR Codes
We added site and localization options to the Copy/Download Registration URL dialog on the Participation page. Researchers can select a site and language, then copy the URL or download its QR code, for example, to print separate QR codes for each site’s flyers. Participants are enrolled at the selected site and see the registration page in the selected language. For more details, see our Reference.
Google Health Data Sources
We added Google Health as a data source, replacing the legacy Fitbit integration. Researchers can collect 12 types of data through participants’ Google accounts, including heart rate, steps, distance, sleep, activity, weight, nutrition, and hydration. Fitbit data sources are no longer available for new studies, and participants must grant Google Health access even if they previously authorized Fitbit. For more details, see our Reference.
Term Definitions in Survey Questions
We added term definitions to survey questions. In the Survey Editor, select a word or phrase in a question and add a definition; it is saved with the question and can be translated like other content. Participants see defined terms with a dotted underline and can hover over or tap them to read the definition, in the web app and the iOS and Android apps. For more details, see our Reference.
Bug Fixes
Missing Keyboard in Working Memory Updating on iOS
We fixed an issue in the iOS app where tapping the first answer field in a Working Memory Updating activity failed to open the number keyboard, preventing participants from entering their first answer.
Duplicate Invitation Message
We corrected the message displayed when a researcher invites a participant who already has a pending invitation to the study. The message now clarifies that the participant has already been invited but has not yet joined the study.
Thank you for your continued feedback and support, which helps us make Avicenna Research better with each release. We hope you find these updates useful.
