Weekly Release Notes - 2026-09-22

Hello everyone,

Most of this week’s release is for the new web application, where we closed a large batch of gaps left over from the move away from the old version. Alongside that, we have fixed how the responses to Audio Text questions are stored and improved the reasons given when session creation from a CSV upload fails.

:sparkles: Improvements

New Web Application Feature Updates

We improved the new web application by adding features that were previously available in the old web application. The updates cover survey responses, media capture, cognitive tasks, eligibility screening, accounts and sign-in, localization, and home and settings displays, bringing key participant-facing functionality to the new web application.

Two-Line Activity Titles on the Web App

We improved how long activity names display on the web app. Activity titles now wrap onto a second line instead of being cut short after one line, allowing participants to see more of the name before opening the activity. Titles longer than two lines are still shortened to fit the card.

:lady_beetle: Bug Fixes

Audio Text Question Responses

We fixed an issue where answering an Audio Text question with both a recording and typed text could cause one response to be lost. The Activity Responses page now preserves the recording as the answer and includes the typed text as `audio_transcript` metadata. We also fixed this behavior for looped questions so every iteration’s recording and text are retained.

Session Creation Error Reasons

We addressed an issue where failed session creations from CSV uploads did not always provide a clear reason for the failure. Failed rows now include specific reasons, such as invalid participant or activity IDs, missing values, or scheduled times outside the participant’s participation period, while valid rows can still be created.
