Hello everyone,
As we wrap up another year, we’re excited to share the latest updates in Avicenna Research. This release includes several bug fixes that enhance the experience for both participants and researchers, making our platform more reliable.
Bug Fixes
Study Re-join Error for Dropped Participants
We fixed an issue in the web app where participants who had been dropped from a study by the researcher and then tried to re-join did not see an error until clicking Participate on the consent form. Validation now occurs earlier on the Join Study page, displaying the message “You have already dropped out of this study”, preventing further progress.
Study Re-join Error Message for Finished Studies
We addressed an issue in the web app where participants trying to re-join a finished study they had previously taken part in were shown only a generic “Sorry, something went wrong” message. Now, if the participation period has ended, users see the message “The study’s participation period has finished,” providing clearer feedback.
Crash on Auto-Complete Answers
We resolved an issue in the iOS app where selecting a suggested answer in a single-line text question with auto-complete options could cause the app to crash. The app now handles these inputs correctly so participants can complete their surveys without unexpected interruptions.
Mandatory Questions in Section Mode
We fixed an issue on the iOS app where surveys displayed in section mode allowed participants to navigate to the next page without answering mandatory questions. Now, participants are prevented from moving forward until all required questions on the current page are completed.
Matrix Reasoning Round Duration
We addressed an issue in Matrix Reasoning where the per round duration was incorrectly calculated using modulo 60, causing, for example, multiples of 60 seconds to be interpreted as 0. Now, the entered duration by the researcher is correctly applied for both practice and main rounds. We also addressed a minor issue where the timer icon appeared for rounds marked as “Unlimited”.
Thank you for your continued feedback and support which helps us make Avicenna Research better with each release. We hope you find these updates useful. As always, we welcome your feedback and encourage you to reach out with any comments or questions on our Community Forum or contact us directly via Email. Stay tuned for more updates coming your way!
