Hello everyone,
I was under the weather last week and couldn’t share an update, but the team has been working tirelessly while I was away. This week, we’re bringing you a new feature, along with a small improvement and several important bug fixes.
New Features
Garmin Health SDK Logged Heart Rate Variability
We’re excited to announce that our Garmin SDK integration now supports Heart Rate Variability (HRV) metrics. Researchers can access detailed HRV data, including RMSSD and SDNN values, directly from Garmin devices. This addition enhances our platform’s ability to provide deeper insights into cardiovascular and autonomic nervous system health. Learn more here.
Improvements
Option to Hide All Past or Future Events
We introduced a new option in the Participants Progress Page setting that allows you to enter 0 to completely hide all past or future sessions, including the sessions from the current month/week/day. This gives you more control over event visibility and helps keep the display focused on the time periods that matter most. See more details here.
Bug Fixes
Default Values Visible in Number, Length, and Mass Questions
We resolved an issue on the participant iOS app where default values for Number, Length, and Mass questions were visible to participants. These values are now properly hidden, ensuring participants provide their own responses without being affected.
Incorrect Error When Removing GPS or Bluetooth Beacon Data Sources Linked to Proximity or Geofencing TLs
We fixed an issue where removing GPS or Bluetooth Beacon data sources in studies with Proximity or Geofencing TLs returned an “Invalid Parameter” error. The system now shows a clear message explaining that these data sources cannot be removed while in use.
Export Failure for Surveys with Media Responses
Survey responses containing videos, images, or other media failed to export in some cases. This issue was addressed, and exports now complete successfully with all data available.
Survey with Question Criteria Not Loading for Anonymous Users
We addressed an issue where surveys with question criteria linked to another survey wouldn’t load for anonymous users via a public link. These surveys now open correctly, allowing anonymous participants to complete them.
Thank you for your continued feedback and support which helps us make Avicenna Research better with each release. We hope you find these updates useful.
