Weekly Release Notes - 2025-10-21

Hello everyone,

We are excited to bring you another update, packed with improvements and bug fixes. Our team has been hard at work addressing issues reported by you and identified by our QA team, as well as implementing enhancements to make your experience smoother. Here’s a breakdown of what’s new in this release:

:sparkles: Improvements

Garmin Device Support Update

We’ve added support for new Garmin devices, including Tactix 8 AMOLED, Tactix 8 Solar, Forerunner 570, Forerunner 970, Fenix 7 Pro (non-WiFi), Fenix 7X Pro (non-WiFi), HRM 600, Venu X1, and Vivoactive 6. For more details, see our Reference.

Animated GIFs in Survey Questions

You can now include animated GIFs in survey questions, just like images. This enhancement allows for engaging visual elements, such as demonstrations, thank-you messages, or concept visualizations. For more details, see our Reference.

:lady_beetle: Bug Fixes

Study Update Notification Localization

We fixed an issue where study update notifications remained in English on iOS devices even when another language was selected in the app. Notifications now display correctly based on the chosen app language.

Session Notifications After Account Switch

We resolved an issue on Android where participants who signed out and then signed in with a different account continued receiving session notifications from their previous account, which resulted in creating invalid sessions and blocking sessions for the new user. Participants now only receive notifications for their current account.

Survey Crash After Question Removal

We addressed an issue on iOS where a survey could crash if a participant had saved its progress but not submitted it, and a question was later removed by the researcher on the researcher dashboard. The app now prevents crashes after a survey update by the researcher.

Media Selection Buttons in Looped Sections

We fixed an issue in researcher-responded sessions where the “Open Gallery” and “Add Audio” buttons became disabled in looped sections with multiple iterations. All media buttons now work correctly in every loop iteration.

Thank you for your continued feedback and support which helps us make Avicenna Research better with each release. We hope you find these updates useful. As always, we welcome your feedback and encourage you to reach out with any comments or questions on our Community Forum or contact us directly via Email. Stay tuned for more updates coming your way!
