Question based on previous response

Hi there! I am looking to get some help on my study 4188 activity 23184.

I am adding a an multiple-answer item in the beginning of my survey and want to present questions after that depending on the options chosen.

However, I am having trouble figuring out the logic for that. I currently have Q48==1 criteria set for my Q50, however, if a participant chooses an option along with 1, the question doesn’t get displayed. So the logic only works when that option is selected alone.

Is it possible to set it such that anytime 1 is selected, Q50 gets triggered?

Thank you!!

Hi Ashmita,

It should work like that actually; Q50 should be shown whenever 1 is selected no matter if there are other options selected.

But, I checked the draft version of your survey. You used Q48_1 == 1 for question 50 (and Q48_2 == 1 for question 49). Q48_1 means question 1 from survey 48. I guess you wanted to use Q48 == 1. Learn more: Criteria | Avicenna Learn.

Please fix this and let me know if you still face that issue. It’s weird that it worked for that option in the first place.

Best regards,
Mojtaba

Yes, I was trying to use Q48 == 1 but again, this doesn’t work when 1 is selected with another option in Q48 (because it is a multiple answer question). For example, if Q48 ==1 and Q48== 2, it doesn’t show the follow up question. You’re right that it should work regardless of any other option chosen but it doesn’t seem to do so.

Hi Ashmita,

Sorry for the late response. I needed to be off for some time.

If the issue still exists, please add me to your study as a researcher so I can double-check. I checked my own study and it worked as expected. This is my email address: mojtaba@avicennaresearch.com. Make sure you give me the necessary permissions.

Also, please let me know where you face such an issue. Is it on the web app, the Preview on the researcher dashboard, or the mobile apps?

Best regards,
Mojtaba
