Hello,
I have set my pilot study to be open from today, 31st of March from 9:00am, with the first prompt also at 9:00. However, for most of the participants it shows that it has not started yet. When I look at the “participants” in Avicenna settings, it also shows “No Session Found” for them. The only participants it works for is me and one other. The only connecting thing here is that me and the other participant have Androids, while all the others have iPhones.
Do you know what could be the issue?
Thanks,
Veronika
Hi Veronica,
This is Amin from Avicenna product team,
There are two different things to consider here:
- Study participation period and type
- Survey triggering logics
I think the issue stems from either one of them. Can you please follow the descriptions from the following links and let me know if the issue remains?
- Participation | Avicenna Learn
- Triggering Logics | Avicenna Learn
Best,
Amin
Hello, so I checked the participation start time and I noticed that for those participants that it didn’t work, it said 9:20am. For me and 2 others it said 9:00. However, I think i might know where the problem is. The time was 9:20 originally, and the participants registered during the weekend. But yesterday late evening I changed the time to 9:00, and I only registered for the study after I changed that. This would probably explain why I got the right start-time of the study, while others did not, because for them, the study opened and worked as intended indeed from 9:20.
So, in order to avoid this mistake, I should probably not change the study start period after the participants will have already joined, right?
Thanks,
Veronika
Dear Veronika @v.pavlovova
If you change the participation times, it will only affect the participants enrolling in the study from that moment on. To change the participation period for existing participants, you have to manually modify the value through the “Participation” tab. To read more about that please read here: Participation | Avicenna Learn.
One other thing that might seem unrelated but is necessary to keep in mind is that modifying the triggering logics’ scheduled times mid study might cause in unexpected behavior (it is quite predictable and expected, but it is complicated, the explanation is a lengthy and fascinating read) and the suggested action is to create a new triggering logic altogether.
Best,
Amin
