Hello everyone,
We are excited to bring you another update packed with a new feature, improvements, and bug fixes! Here’s a breakdown of what’s new in this release:
New Features
Weather Data
We introduced the Weather data source to deliver comprehensive weather information based on the participant’s current location. This resource collects valuable metrics, including temperature, humidity, wind patterns, and UV index, essential for various research applications. Learn more on our Reference.
Improvements
App URL Placeholders in Notification Templates
We improved the Notification Templates by adding “Android App URL” and “iOS App URL” placeholder options for “Study Invitation” notification templates. If your study has custom apps, these placeholders will refer to your custom apps on the app stores.
Reload Button on the Data Export Page
We added a reload button to the Data Export page of the researcher dashboard, allowing researchers to refresh the export list without having to reload the entire page. This improvement provides a more efficient way to check if exports are ready.
Optimization of Vertices List for Polygonal Geofences
We improved the performance of polygonal geofencing TLs in the activity editor by optimizing the vertices list. Previously, adding many vertices could cause lag, affecting tasks like editing or typing in fields.
Bug Fixes
Session Creation for Canceled User TL Sessions
We fixed a bug in Android and iOS apps where sessions were not sent to the server for canceled User TL sessions. Previously, when a session was canceled by the participant, no session record would have been available on the Activity Responses or Activity Sessions pages of the researcher dashboard.
Location Capture for Survey Responses
We resolved an issue on the participant Android app where participants’ locations were not captured in survey responses even when location access was granted and Capture Location was enabled for the survey. Previously, this resulted in null
values for location data in survey responses metadata.
Translation Update for Reset Participation Banner
We fixed an issue in the Android app where the Reset Participation banner did not update its text content when the app’s language was changed. Previously, the banner continued to display text in the previous language.
Notification Issue After Device Reboot
We resolved a notification issue in the Android app, where notifications stopped working after the device was rebooted for any reason.
Missing Language Selector When Adding Data Sources
We fixed a bug on the researcher dashboard where the localization selector was missing when adding a new data source to a study. Previously, the localization option was only available when editing an existing data source.
Time Triggering Logic for Non-Session-Based Activities
We resolved a bug where the Time TL was incorrectly available and could be added to non-session-based activities (e.g., Page), leading to errors upon publishing.
Empty Data Type Column on Data Export Page
We fixed a bug on the researcher dashboard where the Data Type column did not load when the Data Export page was accessed directly as the first page. This resulted in the column appearing empty until users navigated to the Data Sources page and returned.
Invalid Activity Types in Activity Selector
We addressed a bug in the activity editor where the activity selector list displayed activity types that lacked corresponding editors. This issue led to potential confusion as users could select activities that could not be edited.
Scrolling Answer Options for Choice-Based Questions
We resolved a scrolling issue on the researcher dashboard where researchers tried to submit new survey sessions or edit a session’s responses. Previously, when multiple-answer or single-answer questions contained many options, researchers were unable to scroll freely through the list, as it displayed only the first few options without scrollbars.
