Weekly Release Notes - 2024-04-23

Hello everyone,

We’re excited to share the latest additions to Avicenna with you. As always, we’ve been dedicated to ensuring a robust and reliable platform, focusing on both bug fixes and new features. While we’ve been proactive in swiftly addressing any issues, we’ve also been working behind the scenes to bring you new enhancements. Here’s a breakdown of what’s in store with the recent update on Apr. 23rd, 2024:

:rocket: New Features:

  • Commenting on Survey Responses:

    • We introduced a new feature that allows the researchers to add comments to survey responses, fostering seamless communication and collaboration among team members. Researchers can do it whether on the Activity Responses page or while editing survey responses on the Activity Sessions page. For detailed information, visit Commenting on Survey Responses on the Avicenna Learn website.
  • Reason for Changes in Participants’ Data:

    • Researchers can now activate a feature requiring them to provide reasons for any modifications directly affecting participants’ data. This includes alterations to participation periods, labels, sites, survey responses, and even dropping and deleting the participants. This enhancement ensures transparency and accountability, empowering researchers to validate the integrity of any changes made. For detailed information, visit Capture Reason for Changes in Participants’ Data on the Avicenna Learn website.

:lady_beetle: Bug Fixes:

  • Missing parts in Survey Schema:

    • We resolved an issue with missing components in the Avicenna Survey Schema, ensuring the successful importing of survey definition files that include public triggering logics and/or negative notification offsets.
  • Exported CSV unicode characters in Microsoft Excel:

    • We addressed an issue in exported CSV files where UTF-8 encoded characters were displaying incorrectly when those files were opened in Microsoft Excel. Also, we made sure CSVs now function properly in alternative spreadsheet tools like LibreOffice.
  • Session stats in Participation CSV exports:

    • We resolved an issue where exported CSV files lacked session statistics despite appropriate filters being set. Now, exported files accurately reflect session statistics, ensuring comprehensive data analysis.
  • Accessing sensor data from new studies on previous devices:

    • We fixed an issue where researchers of a study couldn’t access sensor data from participants who joined the study on a new device and continued using the previous device(s).

Your invaluable feedback continues to drive improvements in Avicenna Research, and we’re committed to delivering a seamless experience with each update. We hope you find these enhancements beneficial. We eagerly await your feedback and encourage you to connect with us on our Community Forum or via Email.
