Weekly Release Notes - 2023-11-06

Greetings, valued users!

We are thrilled to unveil our latest update on November 6, 2023. This release is packed with enhancements and fixes to ensure a smoother and more efficient experience. Let’s dive into the details:

:lady_beetle: Bug Fixes:

  • CSV File Download Permission Issue: We’ve tackled the bug where users faced a ‘Forbidden’ error while trying to download CSV files from the pending invitations page and data sources record counts. This fix ensures smooth and error-free downloads, enhancing user convenience.

  • Standardized Export File Naming: We’ve resolved inconsistencies in the naming of participation export files. Previously, users encountered confusion with the file names like ‘4.csv’. Now, we’ve standardized the naming convention to ‘data_registrations_{study.id}_{export_ssid}’, making it more intuitive and easier to manage.

:wrench: Technical Updates:

  • ElasticSearch Integration for Webserver Logs: In a significant step to improve our backend logging system, we’ve removed the dependency on Logstash. Now, our webserver directly indexes log documents to ElasticSearch. This change leads to a more streamlined, efficient logging process, enhancing the speed and reliability of our logging system.

  • Improved Installation and Environment Variables Documentation: To make the setup and configuration process more user-friendly, we’ve updated our documentation related to installation and environment variables. These improvements aim to provide clearer guidance, making it easier for users to navigate through initial setup processes and configurations.
