Temporarily Pausing Activity in a Study

I was wondering if I can get some guidance on how to temporarily pause one of the Activities in my study (ID:2037). Originally, we had an EMA Survey that was based on a participant’s school schedule. Now that it’s summer, I want to switch off the original EMA Survey and have the EMA Survey—SUMMER (ID: 22199) be live for the remainder of the summer. Is there a way I can do this without changing the triggering events in the original activity?

Hi Nicole,

Here’s how:

  1. Edit activity.

  2. In the bottom right corner of the editor, click “Settings”.

  3. Find the “Criteria” section and click “Set”.

  4. In the “Criteria for Activity” window, choose “Typing mode”.

  5. Enter “1 == 2” in the criteria field. This will always be evaluated as false, effectively hiding the activity.

  6. Save the activity and publish the changes.
