Hello, I am starting a small study with between 2-4 participants and they need to receive a survey that will only be for them. For example, I will have a survey (activity for) participant 1 and a completely different one for participant 2. As of now, participants who enroll in the study will receive all the surveys in my activity queue and this is not what I want… rather, I would like to use the activity session to assign surveys to participants. Any help would be much appreciated.
You can do that using criteria. You can add a baseline survey and in that, ask participants to enter their unique ID (an ID you had provided to them during the enrollment). Then add a criteria to each survey that the survey is enabled only if that ID is chosen by the participant.
As the number of participants in your study is small, this works perfectly fine. But if the number of participants increases, you will face two issues:
- Avicenna loads all surveys for each participant. Having one survey per participant means the app loads all surveys, and only shows one to the participant. This slows down the app and will have a bad participant experience.
- Participants may choose incorrect ID causing them to receive wrong survey.
Note that with your sample size you do not have to be worried about any of these.
Hope it helps,
Mohammad
Thank you this is helpful. And makes complete sense to me, however. Is there a way that clients can have their own surveys? Maybe the problem is that the current options in Avenceena are not designed for what I am trying to do with my study. Is there anyway I can request a consult?
Currently I’m holding office hours on Tuesdays from 10 to 12 Eastern and can help. You can set a time here.
We can chat then.
Hope it helps.
